Mitt Romney has now raised more than $8 million from Utahns this presidential cycle, the most a candidate has pulled from voters in the state for a race.

Utahns have given Romney $8.2 millon so for this election, according to the latest filings with the Federal Election Commission.

The Republican candidate trounces President Barack Obama, who has raised $1.7 million from the Beehive State, the new filings show.

Presidential candidates were required to post their last fundraising hauls this week ahead of the general election on Nov. 6. Overall, Utahns have forked over some $10.6 million to presidential candidates, including about $366,000 to ex-Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman and $211,000 for Rep. Ron Paul.

Romney raised about $5.4 million from Utahns in his 2008 presidential bid before dropping out and endorsing Sen. John McCain.
