While the 4A team title provided more than its share of drama, the race for individual supremacy was nearly as good.

Timpanogos' Jacob Heslington and Logan's Jerrell Mock finally shook off Sky View's Conner Mantz near the end of the race. The pair entered the stadium running stride for stride, but Heslington had just enough in the tank to outlast Mock, to win his second consecutive 4A title.

"We've had some really good battles, but I thought if I could just get in front, my leg speed would carry me," Heslington said.
