A drive-by shooting injured a man Saturday at an Ogden gas station.

The shooting happened about 3:15 p.m. at a Maverick station on the corner of 32nd Street and Washington Boulevard. Ogden police Lt. Will Cragun said the victim was part of a rap group traveling through town. The group was selling CDs in the station parking lot and the victim approached one man in an attempt to sell him a CD. Cragun said the man made some comment referencing gang affiliations, but Cragun wasn't sure what.

About an hour later, a 1990s model Chevy Blazer or GMC Yukon, black or primer gray in color, drove south on Washington Boulevard. The man who made the comment was inside the car and fired up to four rounds from a .45-caliber pistol, Cragun said.

One bullet struck the victim in the lower abdomen. He went to a hospital and is expected to survive, Cragun said. Police are trying to find the shooter, who is described as a Latino in his 20s with facial tattoos and a balding hairline. Anyone with information can contact Ogden police at 801-629-8221.
