My. my, my: Great White performs in Utah this weekend, on bill with KUTV anchor
Great White performs in Utah this Friday.Don't confuse this band with Jack Russell's Great White, with the latter featuring former singer Russell and some hired hands. The Great White performing at Barbary Coast includes founding member Mark Kendall, as well as two musicians who have been with the band since 1985 before the hard-rock band's signature hit (and cover), "Once Bitten, Twice Shy." In an interview with The Tribune, Kendall said he lived in Utah for about a year in 2006; his wife, an Ogden native, moved to Utah with him that year to attend to her mother. Since then, continuing disputes between the band and Russell have taken its toll, but now the band finds itself in healthy times. "We love to be around each other," Kendall said. "There's no drama whatsoever." The band released a new album, "Elation," earlier this year, a necessity for him, Kendall, 55, said. "If we were just an oldies band, I would go crazy," he said. Net Work, Danger Alley and Blue Deville (featuring KUTV news anchor Mark Koelbel) are also on the bill.
