It’s like Arbor Day meets your weekly hike.
Tree Utah is planting up to 3,000 trees Saturday at Alta Resort. The terrain is sloped and sometimes steep, so Tree Utah is asking for help from experienced hikers.
Ross Chambless, the planting coordinator for Tree Utah, said the volunteers need to be accustomed to moving on and working on slopes. The organization is asking the volunteers be age 16 and older.
The event starts at 8 a.m. at Alta Lodge. Interested volunteers must register by contacting Ross, at planting@treeutah.org, or call 801-364-2122.
