Extra Space Storage Inc., a Salt Lake City-based real estate investment trust, announced its board of directors has declared a quarterly dividend of 20 cents per share.

The dividend will be paid on Sept. 28 to those whose names are on the company’s shareholders list at the close of the business day on Sept. 14, 2012.

Extra Space Storage owns and/or operates 882 self-storage properties in 34 states and Washington, D.C. Its properties comprise approximately 585,000 units with more than 64 million square feet of rentable storage space.
