A pregnant woman and a baby remained in critical condition Wednesday, the day after they were ejected from a rolling vehicle in Tooele following a crash.
Tooele police Lt. Adrian Day said the accident occurred just before 1 p.m. Tuesday when a Buick sedan allegedly blew a stop sign near Utah Avenue and State Road 112 at about 60 mph and hit the rear of a Chevrolet Suburban.
“The collision caused the Suburban to fishtail and then roll off the road. The male driver, the pregnant female and the toddler were all ejected,” Day said.
The unidentified woman and 1-year-old baby were taken by medical helicopter to Salt Lake City hospitals where they remained in critical condition Wednesday. The male driver was taken to Mountain West Medical Center in Tooele for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The male driver of the Buick was uninjured, but cited with failure to stop at a stop sign, Day said.
