Even a 39-point rout of Hawaii wasn't enough to keep Southern California atop the AP Top 25. The Trojans beat the Warriors 49-10 on Saturday, but dropped to No. 2 in the AP poll after Alabama blew out then-No. 8 Michigan in Cowboys Stadium.
The Crimson Tide jumped the Trojans into first place in the AP poll, while both Alabama and USC moved ahead of LSU in the USA Today Coaches' Poll to grab the top two spots.
Oregon, which had been ranked No. 5 in both polls, moved up to No. 4 after whalloping Arkansas State 57-34. Stanford dropped in both polls, to No. 25 in the AP poll and No. 21 in the coaches', after barely getting past San Jose State.
Washington, Utah and Arizona were among the teams also receiving votes.
