Local New Age pianist and YouTube phenomenon Jon Schmidt, along with Steve Sharp Nelson, will headline the August 11 Wolf Creek Foundation Music in the Mountains Concert.

Sponsored by Bank of Utah, the event will be held at the base of the Wolf Mountain.

The cost is $25 per carload, and proceeds will benefit Wolf Creek Foundation’s retreats for deploying airmen from Hill Air Force Base and their families.

Gates will open at 6 p.m. and the concert starts at 8 p.m.

Jon Schmidt, whose original music is a hybrid of classical, contemporary and rock and roll, is an independent musician who has made a name for himself through live performances and popular YouTube videos. A recent video collaboration with The Piano Guys garnered more than 5 million views since being posted July 20, 2012:

Schmidt is a Davis County resident and father of five children with his wife, Michelle, Schmidt.

All concerts are held at 3567 East Nordic Valley Way, Liberty, Utah at the base of the Wolf Mountain ski resort.
