Kerwynn Williams named to watch list
The senior running back is one of 49 candidates for the 2012 Paul Hornung Award, given annually to the most versatile player in college football.
This adulation comes for good reason. Williams will be Utah State's workhorse running back. He will catch passes out of the backfield, and he's a threat in the return game and has been so since his freshman season.
Williams is the only player from Utah on the watch list, and one of just three from the Western Athletic Conference, with San Jose State's Chandler Jones and Idaho's Justin Veltung being the other two.
Williams, playing behind Robert Turbin and Michael Smith, rushed for 542 yards on 81 carries last season. He broke out in the season-opener against Auburn, contributing the first score with a 43-yard touchdown in the first quarter.
