Two days after his “bullet bike” style motorcycle slammed into the side of a red light-running SUV, a 35-year-old man remained in “extremely critical condition” on Thursday, Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said.
The crash occurred about 11 a.m. Tuesday as the 35-year-old motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, traveled westbound at about 40 mph into the intersection at 900 East and Fort Union Boulevard.
The 75-year-old male driver of a northbound Ford Bronco had just blown a red light, witnesses said, when the motorcycle struck the side of the vehicle.
The motorcyclist, whose name was being withheld, suffered severe head injuries.
Neither the driver of the Bronco nor his wife, who was a passenger, was injured.
The investigation was ongoing and no citations had been issued as of Thursday.
