The U.S. men's basketball team will see a familiar face - Spurs star Tony Parker - when it faces off against France.

"I've been chasing that dream for, like, 10 years," Parker told NBC Sports. "It was very important for me."

Parker may be wearing goggles because of the injury he suffered in the Chris Brown-Drake nightclub melee. And before you chuckle at that, a piece of glass from a broken bottle nearly cost the basketball star his eye. (7:30 a.m., NBCSN and NBC basketball channel)

NBC PRIMETIME (6-11 p.m., Ch. 5): Michael Phelps has a chance to tie the Olympic record with his 18th medal in the 4x100 freestyle relay. And U.S. women gymnasts make their London debut in the qualifying round, hoping to make it to the medal competition.

Men's soccer: MSNBC has coverage of Brazil vs Belarus (8 a.m.); Sengal vs Uraguay (10 a.m.); and Great Britain vs. United Arab Emirates (12:45 p.m.)

Men's basketball (9:30 a.m., NBCSN): Spain, seen as a possible threat to Team USA's gold-medal hopes, takes on China.

Badminton (11:50 a.m., NBCSN): Americans Tony Gunawan and Howard Bach match up against a team from Malaysia.

Archery (1:45 p.m., NBCSN): Not surprisingly, the South Koreans are favored. They've won gold medals in all six games since the sport was added to the Olympics.
