BYU junior running back Josh Quezada has decided to transfer, the school announced Friday.
The native of La Habra, Calif., came to the Cougars amid much fanfare, but never did earn consistent playing time. In two seasons, he played 26 games, rushing 185 times for 803 yards (4.3 yards per carry) and six touchdowns. He added 12 receptions for 67 yards and a TD.
“Josh is a great young man, and I appreciate all the hard work he has put in to help make our program successful,” said BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall. “We will miss him, but I’m supportive of his future and his goals and wish the best for Josh and his family.”
Quezada has two years of eligibility remaining and has not said where he intends to transfer.
