U.S. News & World Report has ranked LDS Hospital one of the “Best Hospitals in America,” and recognized three other Intermountain Healthcare hospitals for their high-performing medical specialties.
LDS Hospital ranked 29th nationally in gynecology and was named the overall top hospital in Utah. The facility was recognized for having five “high-performing” specialties in addition to its national raking in gynecology — cancer, gastroenterology, orthopedics, pulmonology and urology.
Murray’s Intermountain Medical Center was listed with eight high-performing specialties — cardiology/heart surgery, diabetes/endocrinology, gastroenterology, geriatrics, gynecology, nephrology, pulmonology and urology.
McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden was recognized for five — gastroenterology, geriatrics, nephrology, pulmonology and urology — while Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo was recognized for four — gastroenterology, geriatrics, pulmonology and urology.
The magazine’s rankings were based on hospital reputation as measured by a survey of medical specialists, outcomes, volumes, service excellence ratings, mortality rates and other measures related to patient care, including data collected by the federal government.
