The BYU Cougars have a new head athletic trainer for football.
BYU announced Friday that Jeff Hurst will replace Kevin Morris, who stepped down a few months ago.
Hurst has been at BYU since 2005 as an assistant athletic trainer for football and baseball. He graduated from BYU in 2000 and received a master's degree from the school in 2004.
Hurst was head athletic trainer for the Provo Angels in 2002 and was the Utah Athletic Trainers Association's Clinical Athletic Trainer of the Year in 2004.
He's in his second term as president of the Utah Athletic Trainers Association Board of Directors.
