The Associated Press reports two Texas men had to be rescued in Paria Canyon. One of the hikers had a medical problem. It's a reminder that the thing about wilderness areas is problems become emergencies easily.

The Southern Utah Museum of Art doesn't confine beauty to a gallery.
The museum is sponsoring art hikes this summer. An outing last weekend took hikers and art lovers to on the Timber Creek Overlook Trail in Zion National Park, according to KCSG.

An American Trail
Departing from Utah for a moment, check out what someone wants to do back east.
Someone wants to connect the North Country National Scenic Trail, which runs from North Dakota to New York, to the Appalachian Trail, which runs from Maine to Georgia, according to the Associated Press. The trails are separated by 40 miles.
The National Park Service is doing a feasibility study, the AP reports. Congress will need to give final approval.
