A worker was temporarily knocked unconscious Friday morning in Salt Lake City when a waterline broke while the man was working in a 10-foot-deep hole.
The accident, initially described as a waterline “explosion,” occurred at about 10:20 a.m. near 3900 West and 700 South.
The force of the water threw the man against the side of the hole, knocking him unconscious, fire officials said.
The hole started filling with water, but people who were nearby pulled the man out. He regained consciousness and subsequently declined medical attention.
Information about the man’s age and who he was working for was not immediately available.
