Count Utah athletic director Chris Hill among those excited about
the direction in which the BCS is moving.
Hill believes a 4-team playoff system is a step in the right direction, without going too far.
"What if we went to a 16-team playoff and it didn't work," He asked. "This is a good step and it allows other teams to have something to look forward to in the bowl system. I'd like to think it would give us a chance to play for a national championship."
Hill said Utah's undefeated seasons in 2004, when the Utes finished No. 4 in the AP poll and in 2008, when the Utes finished No. 2, definitely swayed him in supporting some sort of playoff format.
"I'd like to think that us, Boise State and TCU have proved something," he said of the BCS busters.
However, Hill also has respect for the traditional bowl system too.
"This fits well for me," he said. "Four is a good number because it allows us to possibly keep the bowl system."
