Utah forecast: A sizzling hot Father's Day weekend
Even Mother Nature celebrates Father's Day, it seems. Utah's weekend forecast calls for warm temperatures under mostly clear skies statewide.
Along northern Utah's Wasatch Front the mercury will climb into the mid- to upper-80s, while to the south upper-90s and triple digits are on the climatological tap.
And while dads and their families smear on the sunscreen, don the shades and hats, barbecue, hike, fish, boat or maybe just plain relax, they can breathe deep air quality throughout the state was given a "Green," or healthy rating by the Utah Division of Environmental Quality.
Salt Lake City's high on Saturday was forecast to reach 86, just one degree lower than Friday's reading, while Father's Day, Sunday, was to sizzle at 97 degrees; Ogdenites looked for 86, 88 and 95 degrees, respectively; Provo 91, 92 and 97; Logan 85, 83 and 92; Wendover 87, 84 and 97; Duchesne 85, 86 and 90; Cedar City 89, 88 and 94; St. George 102, 97 and 104; and Moab 97, 95 and 99 degrees.
