Utah's growing craft beer and distilling industries have long paid tongue-in-cheek homage to the state's history of polygamy.
There's the Wasatch-brewed Polygamy Porter, whose "Why have just one?" tagline, beloved by tourists, has caused its share of controversy, as well as the Polygamy Pale Ale brewed by Roosters in Ogden.
And there's Five Wives, a vodka also made in Ogden that has a label featuring a rather racy historical picture involving ladies holding cats near their swimsuit areas.
By the way, the owner says the name doesn't actually refer to polygamy but rather a five-woman-to-66-man Missouri wagon train that came through the territory before the arrival of Mormon pioneers. So there.
So what do you think? Is the liquor offensive to Mormons? Polygamists (who often don't actually eschew alcohol as strictly as the mainstream Mormon church)?
