Civics Central: Raises for court commissioners, dog policy update

Here's your weekly roundup of what local city councils, school boards and other government entities are tackling during regularly scheduled meetings. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are welcome to voice their opinions during designated times. If you do wish to speak at a particular meeting, you may need to sign up in advance.

Davis County Commission • Will consider a change order for the library/administration building project and approve payment of various bills; Tuesday, May 29, 10 a.m., Memorial Courthouse Building, 28 E. State St., Farmington. View the Davis County agenda.

Salt Lake City Council • Will receive a briefing from Mayor Ralph Becker's administration on off-leash dog parks about proposed models and options to increase off-leash areas. The presentation will include options for public education and enforcement; Tuesday, May 29, 2 p.m.; City Hall, 451 S. State St., Room 326.

Utah Judicial Council • Considers a cost of living "adjustment" for court commissioners; Tuesday, May 29, 10 a.m., Vernal Courthouse, 920 E. Hwy 40, Vernal. More details on the agenda.

Taylorsville City Council • Hosts a town meeting/open house at which all citizens can ask questions or make suggestions; Wednesday, May 30, 6-7 p.m., 2600 W. Taylorsville Blvd., room 14.

Utah County Commission • Will receive public comment concerning a proposed agriculture protection area of about 121/4 acres in the Lake Shore area; Tuesday, May 29, 9 a.m., 100 E. Center St., Provo, room 1400.
