When it comes to great stage productions, we tend to hear about scripts, music and actors (probably more than we want about the actors).
But set and costume design are key to the impact and resonance a drama or musical has with an audience, making them art forms in their own right.
The Pioneer Memorial Theatre on the University of Utah campus is offering an exhibit of the best of its set design and costumes over its 50-year existence. The display can be visited during intermission by the audiences for “Man of La Mancha.”
If making “La Mancha” is an impossible dream, you can still see the exhibit of set and costume design for free during daytime business hours.
