Numbers tell the tale in Jazz-Spurs series
Some numbers tell the major stories of Games 1 and 2 in the Jazz-Spurs playoff series:
-- Excluding Paul Millsap, Jazz starters Al Jefferson (13-31), Gordon Hayward (5-16), Devin Harris (5-16) and Josh Howard (3-13) are a combined 26-for-76 from the field. That's 34.2 percent.
-- In the last nine days, going back to the final two games of the regular season, San Antonio's Tony Parker has played 65 minutes, Tim Duncan has played 58 minutes and Manu Ginobili has played 34 minutes.
-- The Jazz are 5-for-19 from the three-point line, which is 26.3 percent. The Spurs are 16-for-39, which is 41 percent. No Jazz player has made more than one three-point shot. Harris and Hayward are 1-for-6.
-- During an 11-point second quarter in Game 2, the Jazz converted only five of their 31 offensive possessions. They scored two points in the final seven minutes, when they were outscored, 22-2.
-- Millsap (65) leads the Jazz in minutes, followed by Hayward (64) and Jefferson (63). Harris has played 49 minutes, followed by Favors. In 47 minutes, he has produced 16 points and 17 rebounds.
