Storms bringing wet weather across Utah today
Two storms moving through Utah Thursday will bring rainy weather statewide for most of the day.
The National Weather Service reports that the first storm will come in the day time, and is expected to drop enough rain to have water flowing through normally dry washes, and create ponding of water on roadways. Later in the evening, a second storm is expected to roll through, causing a wet, cool Thursday evening. It is expected that it will be windy in Northern Utah in the evening, and snow is expected to accumulate in areas above 6,000 feet.
Throughout Northern Utah, temperatures are expected to reach 70 Thursday, before dropping to the mid-50s on Friday. There is a 20-30 percent chance of snow in the northern areas for Friday, before the rain clears for a partially sunny day expected to be in the high 50s and low 60s on Saturday.
In Southern Utah, rain will stick through Thursday, but will clear early for sunny, but cooler days going into the weekend. St. George is expecting a high of 68 degrees Thursday, followed by 77 on Friday, and 80 degrees on Saturday. Moab is expected to have cooler temperatures, with a high of 78 degrees Thursday, 70 degrees Friday and 71 degrees on Saturday.
The Utah Department of Environmental Quality forecast "green" or healthy air quality for all regions through the weekend.
