Jazz veterans Josh Howard and Raja Bell, who have been sidelined with knee injuries, participated in practice on a limited basis Friday morning.

Although the team offered no timetable for their return, Howard and Bell took a tangible step in rejoining the active roster by practicing.

Point guard Earl Watson (knee surgery) and swingman C.J. Miles (calf strain) remain sidelined.

The Jazz play Orlando on Saturday night. With a record of 33-30, they are currently tied with Phoenix for the eighth and final playoff berth in the Western Conference.

The return of Howard and/or Bell would greatly improve Utah's depth among wing players, where second-year man Gordon Hayward, former free agent DeMarre Carroll and rookie Alec Burks have been carrying most of the workload.
