What is that fat little bird on that rock? It’s probably a Chukar.
What is a Chukar? It’s kind of like a little wild chicken or pheasant.
How big are they? The birds, a kind of partridge, are about 13-14 inches long.
They’re found all over Antelope Island State Park, often catching the attention of younger visitors. Children ages 6-12 are invited to come to the park and learn all about them during a one-hour, hands-on program on Saturday, April 14.
Meet at the visitor center at 11 am. Regular park admission prices apply.
