Nick Robinson didn't waste any time before he began recruiting local players.

The Southern Utah basketball coach, announced six days ago as the successor to Roger Reid, extended a scholarship offer to South Sevier point guard Race Parsons this week. Parsons, a 6-foot-1 point guard, has led the Rams to back-to-back Class 2A state championships and won back-to-back MVP awards from The Tribune.

South Sevier coach Scott Hunt said Parsons has also received interest from Utah State and Weber State. Parsons appears set to become the first player since his grandfather, Lynn. Parsons' father, Rhett, also played at Southern Utah, but before it was a Division 1 school.
