Boston —

Jazz outpunched during 94-82 loss to Celtics

Alec Burks on a double technical foul-call during the fourth quarter against Al Jefferson and Kevin Garnett: Aw, man, I'm not going to be punked. I'm a grown man. You're not going to challenge my manhood. Al felt a certain way and that's how he got it. It was just a dirty play by Kevin Garnett. Oh well. First impression of Garnett: He's a great player. He's exactly like I [thought] and he deserve it. But he's a dirty player. So much talk to you; try to get into your head. You've got to keep playing your game.Nonstop trash talk: Constant talk. He talk the whole game. But you ain't supposed to feed [into] that. That's his whole game.Tyrone Corbin on Jefferson vs. Garnett: [Jefferson] missed some shots early in the game. I think he was 1 for 8 in the first half. He's better than that. He knew eventually the ball would fall in the hole for him — he missed some early easy ones. … Garnett's a tough defender, and these are two competitive guys fighting for everything they can get on the floor and it was great to see.C.J. Miles on double technical: I just saw them bump each other, like typical. It's kind of like, chill out, man. People's just out there fighting, man, just trying to win games. Competitive juices start flowing and stuff like that happens. Jefferson on Garnett: … I might not like him but I've got to respect him and respect the things that he have done. He made a way for me, coming out of high school. That's all I've got to really say about that. I've got mad respect for him.Battle with Garnett being one of the best of his season: I think Kendrick Perkins is my toughest battle, because he kind of know me like a book. But it was good. That stretch was a battle. I'm not going to say that was the best of this season. But it was a good battle and it's an honor to play against him.Brian T. SmithTwitter: @tribjazz
