With Damarcus Harrison announcing a few weeks ago that he will go on an LDS Church mission this summer, BYU basketball coach Dave Rose has a decision to make in the next month or so. What should Rose do with the scholarship vacated by Harrison the next two years? Should he give it to walk-on Craig Cusick, who more than earned it with some outstanding play in a backup role at point guard this past season? Or should he try to find another outside shooter from the junior college ranks? The late-signing period for basketball begins on April 11 (that's when Delgado will sign, actually) and runs through May 16. I wrote about that dilemma facing Rose, and more, in this look-ahead story in this morning's Tribune. Also today, be sure to check out Tribune television critic Scott Pierce's assessment of how Rose did as a college basketball analyst on CBS Sports Network last Thursday and Friday.——————— The Cougar football team will practice Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week as spring camp concludes in Provo. Looks like the Cougars will go inside today, with rain and high winds buffeting the Wasatch Front today. Just hope I-15 is open by this afternoon, after a semi tipped over at the Point of the Mountain on Monday morning due to the high winds. Of course, conditions were perfect last Saturday for the spring scrimmage at LaVell Edwards Stadium. Here's my report from that short scrimmage that included precious few guys who will actually play this fall, in case you missed it over the weekend.
