Steve Griffin | The Salt Lake Tribune Rock climbers enjoy the warm temperatures as they climb the granite walls at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah Monday, March 5, 2012.

The Salt Lake Climbers Alliance has three benefit events scheduled in the next few weeks.

The first, Black Diamond’s annual spring gear swap, is Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Black Diamond parking lot, 2092 E. 3900 South, Salt Lake County. The swap allows climbers and skiers to buy, sell or trade their equipment.

The second will be a presentation of the film “The Zanskar Odyssey” on March 22 at 7 p.m. at Brewvies Cinema Pub, 677 S. 200 West, Salt Lake City. The film is about an alpine bouldering expedition to the Himalayas featuring Abbey Smith, Jason Kehl and Pete Takeda. Smith will be at the Salt Lake City event. Proceeds from the show will benefit the Salt Lake Climber’s Alliance campaign to provide seasonal portable toilets at Joe’s Valley, a popular climbing destination in Emery County. The show is for those 21 years and older. Tickets are $5 for American Alpine Club members and $10 for non-members. A raffle is planned.

The final event is the Reel Rock Film Tour 2011 Encore, sponsored by Petzl on April 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Jim Santy Auditorium in Park City. Tickets are $10 at the door. It will feature a number of climbing films.
