The Salt Lake City Main Library will host the 10th annual No Strings Attached Puppetry Festival Saturday and Sunday.

The headliners are the Maritime Marionettes from Nova Scotia, who will present their production of Igor Stravinsky’s “Petrouchka” at the Main Library Auditorium Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and Sunday at 1:15 p.m.

The production features 23 marionette characters telling the story of downtrodden puppet Petrouchka. Preceding the event, patrons can hear Cicile Forsberg of the Utah Symphony lead a discussion on the opera.

Other highlights include the City Library’s Whizgiggle puppets performing the “Late Night Laugh-a-Thon,” The Puppet Players presenting two children performances, Maxed Out Puppetry, Constant Moon Puppet Co., Freddie Spencer the String Man, and Salt Lake Adult Puppet Theater.

There will also be displays of international puppets from the Berlin Puppetry Museum, a take and make bag puppet workshop outside the children’s library and puppets available for sale outside the Library Store.
