A registered sex offender accused of exposing himself to a mother and her young children as they walked to church one November morning has been deemed incompetent to stand trial.
A 3rd District judge last week ordered Daniel John Allgood, 28, to the Utah State Hospital for treatment.
A review of his competency is set for June.
Allgood faces two third-degree felony counts of lewdness. According to court documents, at least two people saw Allgood expose himself near 240 E. South Temple.
Allgood is a registered sex offender, having pleaded guilty in August 2000 to sexual abuse of a child, a second-degree felony.
In 2010, Allgood pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender, a class A misdemeanor. He also pleaded guilty that year to class A misdemeanor attempted lewdness, for a lewd incident in Memory Grove.
