A West Jordan woman was charged with assault and sexual battery Friday for attempting to fondle a police officer and nuzzling another during a drunken driving arrest on a church lawn.

The 44-year-old woman drove up onto a parking strip the night of Nov. 8, then drove away when the homeowner came out to investigate, narrowly missing a mailbox, according to charges filed in 3rd District Court.

The homeowner called police, then followed her in his own car until she drove over a sidewalk and onto a church lawn. After police arrived and arrested her, she allegedly kicked an officer and attempted to grab his crotch.

She then told the arresting officer she would “kill [her] with her [expletive] eyes,” kicked her twice and head-butted her.

When a third officer joined to help obtain a Breathalyzer result, she told him she loved him, rubbed her head on his crotch “when he wasn’t paying attention to her,” and then said she “couldn’t wait” to accuse him of “something,” charges state.

The woman allegedly had a blood alcohol level of .25, more than three times the legal limit. She was charged with three counts of assault by a prisoner, a third-degree felony; two counts of retaliation against a witness, a third-degree felony; sexual battery, a class A misdemeanor; attempted sexual battery, a class B misdemeanor; and driving under the influence of alcohol, a class B misdemeanor.
