Oscar-nominated doc 'If a Tree Falls' screens at City Library
Daniel McGowan was a New Yorker who went west to join the environmental movement which first radicalized and then disillusioned him.
McGowan's story is the backbone of "If a Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front," director Marshall Curry's fair-minded and powerful film about the environmental group the FBI labeled America's "number one domestic terrorism threat."
The film, a nominee for this year's Oscar for documentary feature, screens Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the City Library auditorium, 210 E. 400 South, Salt Lake City.
The screening, presented by the Utah Film Center, is free to the public.
