Prosecutors charged a Magna man with sexually abusing three of his grandchildren at his home over the past six years.

The 77-year-old man was charged Thursday in 3rd District Court with 28 counts ranging from sodomy of a child, aggravated sexual abuse of a child, both first-degree felonies, to second-degree felony sexual exploitation of a minor.

The youngest was first abused when she was in kindergarten, the other when he was an 8-year-old and the oldest when he was 11, the charges state.

One of the children said while at their grandfather's house, he would make them watch pornography and then make her older brother "do things" to her that were in the movies they just watched, according to the charges.

The abuse began in 2006. The man abused at least one of the children up until last year. He would touch each child's privates and perform sex acts on them or ask them to perform them on him, the charges state. He told them not to tell anyone.

In 1989, the man was convicted in Cache County's 1st District Court with three counts of first-degree felony sex abuse of a child.
