Al Hartmann | The Salt Lake Tribune Music director Thierry Fischer will bring the Utah Symphony to the Salt Lake Tabernacle to perform the Berlioz Requiem with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The concerts are part of the biennial Tanner Gift of Music series.

Utah Symphony Music Director Thierry Fischer, Principal Pops Conductor Jerry Steichen and Utah Symphony | Utah Opera President and CEO Melia Tourangeau will announce the Utah Symphony’s 2012-13 season at a press conference on Monday, Feb. 6, at 10:30 a.m.

The conference will be at Abravanel Hall in Salt Lake City.

Fischer has reportedly programmed another ambitious symphony cycle for next year and commissioned a second world premiere for the Utah Symphony.

Any guesses on whom the symphony cycle will be by? Antonin Dvorak? Dmitri Dmitriyevich Shostakovich?

The Tribune will publish the season online shortly after Monday’s announcement.
