BYU football: Tackle Matt Reynolds to play in East-West Shrine Game
BYU senior offensive tackle Matt Reynolds has accepted an invitation to play in the 87th East-West Shrine Game, which will be played Jan. 21, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Reynolds started every game for BYU in his four-year career, tying the school's record for most starts, 52.
The Provo native was an Outland Trophy and Lombardi Award candidate and two-year team captain while helping BYU win 38 games, including a 3-1 record in bowl games, in his four seasons.
Reynolds joins football greats such as John Elway, Tom Brady, Brett Favre and 62 NFL Hall of Famers who have played in the East-West Shrine Game, along with 52 players on active NFL rosters.
"The East-West Shrine Game has always fielded players among college football's best," said East-West Shrine Game Executive Director Harold Richardson. "With all 32 NFL teams represented by GMs, coaches and scouts during game week, our players have the terrific opportunity to showcase their talents and get their first glimpse of life in the NFL."
The game will kick off at 2 p.m. MST and will be televised live on the NFL Network.
