If you didn't know better, you might look at the trailer for "1/2 Revolution" and think it's another "Blair Witch Project" knockoff, with political overtones.

The difference is that, this time, it really is all happening.

In the documentary, directors Omar Shargawi and Karim El Hakim get in the streets of Cairo during the protests in Tahrir Square. But as the pushback from the Mubarak government and its thuggish supporters becomes more violence, the filmmakers are forced to retreat to the apartment where El Hakim's family lives -- and what started as a political protest documentary becomes a chronicle of survival.

(Warning: There is some profanity in the trailer -- but if explosions were happening outside your balcony, you might drop a few F-bombs, too.)

"1/2 Revolution" screens in the World Cinema Documentary competition of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.
