For much of the season, Larry Krystkowiak has been throwing players on the court, searching for a combination that might work.
Thursday, it appeared, he found one.
Seven players saw the floor for the Utes, a tighter rotation than the Krystkowiak has turned to this season. Rotation players Anthony Odunsi and Blake Wilkinson did not play in the Utes' 62-60 overtime win over Washington State.
"We've had al ittle bit of a tapering off in practice for some of our players," Krystkowiak said. "For me it's all about practice. If you're not playing, you need to prove to us in practice.
"There's been a combination of concerntration issues of guys, a lot of it's freshmen, let's be frank about it. I think Blake, maybe Anthony Odunsi, those guys right now just need to play get some minutes get some time under their belt. Because there's been some mistakes and errors made and we just need to put ourselves in the best position that we can win. I told them after the win that they're going to be called on most likely on Saturday."
Freshman point guard Kareem Storey and forward Javon Dawson were the only bench players to enter the game for the Utes. Storey scored four points in 19 minutes while Dawson also scored four in 14 minutes.
