Chris Detrick | The Salt Lake Tribune Daniels Painting volunteer Russel Daniels helps paint the walls at The Road Home on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011. The Road Home, a non-profit organization that serves homeless individuals and families throughout the Wasatch Front, was a recipient of a free interior paint makeover as part of Benjamin Moore Paints “Color Care Across America” Campaign. This campaign, launched in partnership with the U.S. Conference of Mayors, is aiming to improve the physical appearance of shelters and help make a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness. Fifteen Color Care volunteers painted about 2,500 square feet at the Road Home.

Ten Salt Lake City radio stations are joining forces — and competing with each other — to help Utah’s homeless population.

The Road Home’s annual Holiday Radiothon is under way, and continues Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 21 and 22, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., to raise money and take donations for the homeless shelter at 210 S. Rio Grande St. in Salt Lake City.

Several stations will be broadcasting live from The Road Home on Wednesday and Thursday, raising awareness as well as accepting cash and goods. Of course, the stations are competing with each other, for bragging rights to see whose listeners are the most generous.

The stations (from left to right on your radio dial) are:

• U92 (KUUU)

• X96 - (KXRK)

• The Zone Sportradio 97.5 FM/1280 AM (KZNS)

• FM 100.3 (KSFI)

• Rewind 100.7 (KYMV)

• 101.5/105.1 The Eagle (KEGA)

• 103.1 Jack-FM (KJQN)

• 103.5 The Arrow (KRSP)

• La Favorita 104.7 FM (KNIV)

• Mix 107.9 (KUDD)

Bring donations to The Road Home, or donate via the shelter’s website, http://www.theroadhome.org.
