Unrestricted free agent guard Ronnie Price will sign a one-year contract with Phoenix, HoopsWorld reported Tuesday.

Price played four seasons with the Jazz, averaging 3.3 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 59 games during 2010-11. The six-year veteran began his career in Sacramento and played college ball at Utah Valley.

Price, 28, recently told The Salt Lake Tribune he wanted to re-sign with Utah, calling the organization his "family."

Instead of adding Price as backup insurance for starter Devin Harris, the Jazz re-signed Earl Watson to a two-year guaranteed deal. Veteran point guards Jamaal Tinsley and Keith McLeod are also competing during training camp to make the team.

The Suns recently signed point guard Sebastian Telfair, whom Utah had pursued during free agency, and will likely back up starter Steve Nash. Brian T. SmithTwitter: @tribjazzbsmith@sltrib.comfacebook.com/tribjazz
