USU Hoops: Grim questionable for UVU
Morgan Grim, the 6-foot-8 senior center, may not be well enough to play against Utah Valley University on Tuesday night, Stew Morrill said on Monday.
A nasty flu bug is the blame, as is a rolled ankle that hasn't completely healed. Grim, who has started every game this season for the Aggies, played just 11 minutes in USU's loss to Pacific on Saturday. He's expected to practice on Monday, and he may well be a gametime decision on Tuesday night.
If Grim can't go, expect freshman center Jordan Stone to receive his first career start. Stone played well in 23 minutes on Saturday night. He's made a positive impact in every game this season. He's still learning, and still raw, but his size at 6-11 and his ability to be physical have added a dimension to the Aggies that nobody else on the roster is capable of.
"Jordan is physical, he's one of the guys who is willing to mix it up," Morrill said. "He makes freshman mistakes, but as far as his impact goes he will probably start receiving more of a chance to play in the future."
