The City Library will welcome Dr. Fred C. Adams, founder of the Utah Shakespeare Festival, for an evening exploring Shakespearean theater and how the author's use of the English language continues to shape our perspective and experience.

The evening will also feature music and dance performances, as well as performances of scenes and monologues.

The event will be held at the Main Library’s Auditorium, Thursday, December 8 at 7 p.m.

Adams, founder of the Utah Shakespeare Festival, will share his expertise in the language of Shakespeare. Salt Lake Acting Company’s Playwright-in-Residence Kathleen Cahill will share her thoughts on language as it pertains to her new play, and actors will perform scenes from the play.

Students from the Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts will perform a collection of scenes and monologues from Shakespeare, a madrigal piece from Thomas Morlay’s "April is My Mistress," and two modern dance pieces inspired by the language of Shakespeare.
