Regis Philbin has been working in television for half a century. He's been co-hosting his current weekday talk show for 23 years.

His last day of hosting Live with Regis & Kelly is Friday (9 a.m., Ch. 13). But first, he's profiled in Thursday's special edition of 20/20 (7 p.m., ABC.Ch. 4).

Katie Couric spends time with Reege; he talks about his life and career; it's all very nostalgic.

Philbin is an original. His career is remarkable. He deserves all the fond farewells he gets.
