Greenville, S.C. • Ahead of a meeting with former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr., South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley said Thursday she wants to hear his positions on critical issues facing the country.

Haley, who has not met Huntsman before, was scheduled to sit down with him on Friday as the just-resigned U.S. ambassador to China weighs whether to launch a presidential bid.

"What I'm hoping to get out of every candidate is, don't tell me what's wrong with President Obama, tell me what you're going to do that's different and what's right," Haley told The Tribune. "I want to know the issues just like the people of South Carolina want to know these issues. This is not a time for political talk. It's time for real answers, real solutions and real results."

Huntsman is slated to address graduates of the University of South Carolina on Saturday in his first address since leaving his post in Beijing.

South Carolina hosts one of the first state contests in the Republican primary process and the winner of the state's primary has gone on to claim the respective party's nomination in every cycle since 1980.
