Farmington • Northridge High School drama teacher Jeremy P. Flygare pleaded not guilty Thursday to three counts of raping a student.

Flygare, 32, is accused of having a sexual relationship with a girl at the school. Layton police arrested Flygare earlier this year after investigating reports from the parents of a 17-year-old who found the teacher in their home with the girl when they returned home from vacation.

He has been on paid administrative leave from the Davis School District since March 29.

Because Flygare was a teacher, he held a position of trust, which warranted the three first-degree felony charges, police and prosecutors have said.

Flygare began teaching at the school in 2007.

Both Flygare and his attorney declined to comment on the case outside the 2nd District courtroom Thursday afternoon.

Flygare's next court appearance is slated for Nov. 4.
