Wildfire burning on mountain above Saratoga Springs

A brush fire was burning Thursday night on Lake Mountain above Saratoga Springs. Dispatchers said no buildings were being threatened as of 9:30 p.m. The Tribune will provide further information as it becomes available.

Drowning death reported at Otter Creek Reservoir

One person drowned Wednesday at Otter Creek Reservoir in Piute County, dispatchers confirmed. Investigators remained at the scene Wednesday night, and no further information was released. The Tribune will provide more details as they become available.

What’s so hard about pointing a camera and pushing a button? This thought is at the heart of a recent decision by the Chicago Sun-Times to dismiss all 28 of its photographers.
