Smithfield police Officer Brandon Muir said the accident occurred about 7 a.m. Tuesday as the “middle-aged” man jogged in the predawn roadway, near 200 West and 550 South. He was hit by a southbound sedan, sustaining “severe facial injuries,” but was conscious and communicative when transported to Cache Valley Hospital.
