Boy falls 60 feet at southwest Utah water fall, officials say

A teenager fell about 60 feet into a canyon at Kanarraville Falls just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Iron County Sheriff’s Office. Early reports indicated the victim is a 16-year-old boy. Dispatchers did not know the extent of his injuries. Sheriff’s deputies, firefighters, paramedics and a medical helicopter were called to the scene as authorities worked to determine exactly what happened at the falls. Cops await blood test results on driver in fatal Tooele County ATV crash

The Tooele County Sheriff’s Office is awaiting results of blood tests before deciding whether to file charges against the driver in a fatal ATV accident over the weekend. Tooele County spokesman Wade Matthews said Monday the 32-year-old driver of the four-wheel, all-terrain vehicle was heading downhill in Middle Canyon Sunday afternoon when his rig drifted off the right side of the road and into some trees. Eleven years ago, Charlotte Marie Mower crossed the street near 500 East and 3500 South in Salt Lake City and was never seen again. But thanks to a DNA match, a Southern California sheriff’s office has identified remains found in a desert town as the missing woman. A multi-agency investigation began at dawn Wednesday into what caused an explosion that killed one man and injured two others at an eastern Utah oil well site. The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office identified the deceased victim as Tyson Boren, 28, of Neola. Boren was a contracted welder at the site. Body found in central Utah thought to be missing man

Emery County authorities and a volunteer search team on Saturday may have located the body of 25-year-old Matthew Alan Larsen, who has been missing since December. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death and to make a positive identification. Sheriff Greg Funk, however, told The Salt Lake Tribune the body is believed to be that of Larsen.
