Wildfire burning on mountain above Saratoga Springs

A brush fire was burning Thursday night on Lake Mountain above Saratoga Springs. Dispatchers said no buildings were being threatened as of 9:30 p.m. The Tribune will provide further information as it becomes available.

Birds cause Saratoga Springs power outage

A power outage that affected more than 4,000 homes in Saratoga Springs was caused by birds that flew into a substation. Rocky Mountain Power spokeswoman Margaret Oler said the birds caused three circuits to go out at about 5:20 p.m. Power was restored at about 7 p.m., she said. Ohler estimated that about 4,200 customers went without power for close to two hours before it was eventually restored.
